New Release(s) Coming February 7, 2010
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , comments closedThere have not been many improvements lately on the platform, but this was for a good reason - we were hard at work rolling out our new software platform, that will become the basis of what is essentially the Ofxp.2.
We are now close to a first release of this general .NET development platform, and it is coming around the end of this month. The platform is a huge improvement over the current underlying infrastructure, and will allow us to compose and provide new products much faster.
Once its out, we shall also do a release (v.0.9) of the Forex Platform to put out a binary set for all the improvements that were done on the current SVN branch (there is more info on those in the Wiki). This version will than serve as a migration basis for the brand new OFxP versions that are coming along.
FXCM adapter in operation December 9, 2009
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , comments closedThe FXCM adapter, allowing to trade trough the FXCM Order 2 GO API is now in operation on the latest version of the platform (currently accessible on the SVN only). It is capable of retrieving data, and executing orders, as well as reporting position state. Individual orders reporting support to be added soon. You can use it to trade the full instrument set of items offered by FXCM, not limited to forex only.
In order to use it, on demo or real account, you need to get access to the FXCM Order 2 GO API (accessible trough this forum) and enter the account details in your adapter settings. Registering new demo accounts for forex trading can be done here.
Big plans, small steps November 18, 2009
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , comments closedWe have started developing the infrastructure for what essentially will become the second version of the platform. Combination of new elements with parts of the existing solution will allow us to quickly catch up with the changing conditions on the trading market and provide a new cutting edge trading application suite. More details to follow as soon as we are closer to a first release of the redesigned system.
In the mean time, small but constant bug fixes and improvements are being done on the current solution (faster thread pool, improved MBTrading integration now provides Equity and correct position information, also extended support for complex order types on back-testing, thanks to Burt99). All of those available on the latest code on the SVN.
H.S.T. Solution Details September 16, 2009
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , comments closedThe first Open Forex Platform FIX based integration has successfully been live tested and verified, and is now available for usage. For this one we utilized the power of the excellent open source QuickFIX engine. The integration currently provides direct access to a number of very high volume liquidity providers (incl. commercial banks) and is suitable for both High Speed Trading and high volume manual trading.
This integration component is also our first premium component; it is aimed mainly at industrial sized integrations, rather than individual traders and we have decided to offer it exclusively with a support package, full production documentation and design documents (all currently available), as well as the usual complete solution source code. For details on the specific conditions of obtaining the component, please contact us directly at sales@openforexplatform.com.
* FIX is an industry leading standard designed for executing network electronic trading, more details can be found here.

Connectivity Diagram August 31, 2009
Posted by admin in : Uncategorized , comments closedThis is a simple diagram, that gives an idea what are the current connectivity capabilities of the platform. Our goal is to ultimately have the most connect capable financial solution possible. The list of tradeable items is already rather substantial, including not only Forex, but Futures, Stock and Options as well. In the coming months, along with other developments, we shall provide more GUI and business entities to simplify and extend the usability of the traded assets groups.
